The following chart illustrates our corporate structure and effective ownership interest in each of our principal operating subsidiaries and affiliates as of January 31, 2009.



  1. The common shares of ASE Inc. are listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange under the symbol “2311”. The ADSs of ASE Inc. are listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “ASX”.
  2. The common shares of Hung Ching Development & Construction Co. Ltd. are listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange under the symbol “2527”.
  3. Our acquisition of ASE Japan was completed on May 31, 2004.
  4. Effective August 1, 2004, ASE (Chung-Li) Inc. and ASE Material Inc. were merged into ASE Inc.
  5. Power ASE Technology Inc. is a joint venture formed by ASE Inc. and Powerchip Semiconductor Corp.
  6. Our acquisition of ASE Assembly & Test (Shanghai) Limited was completed in January 2007.
  7. Suzhou ASEN Semiconductors Co., Ltd. is a joint venture formed by ASE Inc. and NXP B.V.
  8. Our acquisition of ASE Weihai Inc. was completed in May 2008.
