ASE and TSIA Members Forge a Sustainable Path in Semiconductor Industry Carbon Reduction

September 27, 2023

Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association (TSIA) recently hosted the “Semiconductor Industry Net Zero Pledge Kick-off and Carbon Reduction Forum”, where its members including MediaTek, TSMC, UMC, and ASE jointly unveiled their environmental goals.

The collective commitment entails achieving a 10% absolute reduction in greenhouse gas emissions (based on 2020’s emission volume) by 2030, and the goal to attain Net Zero by 2050. This groundbreaking initiative marks the first time a member of the World Semiconductor Council has publicly disclosed aggressive carbon reduction plans to address climate change concerns.
