ASE Kaohsiung Plant Receives the National Sustainable Development Award, Earning National-Level Recognition for Two Consecutive Years
The Kaohsiung plant distinguished itself among 147 nominees nationwide this year, earning further recognition for its sustainability achievements. The award was presented by Vice Premier Cheng Li-Chiun on August 8, marking ASE’s second consecutive year of receiving national-level recognition. The accolade underscores the Group’s leadership in advancing net-zero initiatives and its commitment to addressing the global challenge of climate change.

The plant has long embraced energy conservation and carbon reduction as core strategic priorities, integrating sustainability into both its operations and corporate culture. To strengthen its net-zero governance framework, the plant established a dedicated “Net-Zero Office” responsible for developing a clear decarbonization roadmap and driving top-down management practices. A “Greenhouse Gas Management Officer System” was also introduced to ensure accountability at every manufacturing facility, while continuous process optimization and innovative carbon reduction solutions further enhance operational efficiency and environmental performance.
Beyond internal transformation, the plant actively promotes a low-carbon culture among employees through large-scale sustainability campaigns and engagement initiatives that encourage collective action. The plant also extends its sustainability efforts throughout the value chain. Through its Sustainability Academy, suppliers are provided with training and resources on sustainability management and low-carbon transformation, helping to strengthen capabilities across the supply chain and accelerate industry-wide progress toward sustainability goals. These efforts not only demonstrate corporate responsibility but also foster a more resilient and sustainable business ecosystem.
The plant is equally committed to diversity, inclusion and talent development. By cultivating a supportive and inclusive workplace, enhancing support systems for foreign employees, and creating an environment where individuals can thrive, the plant strives to make Taiwan a welcoming second home for its international workforce. At the same time, it invests in developing cross-disciplinary talent with expertise in both technology and sustainability, strengthening organizational resilience and driving long-term innovation.
These comprehensive sustainability initiatives have earned the plant numerous accolades in recent years, including the National Corporate Environmental Protection Award, the National Talent Development Award, the National Occupational Safety and Health Award, the Industrial Greenhouse Gas Reduction Excellence Award, and the Energy Conservation Benchmark Award, with its capabilities widely recognized across all sectors.
In governance, the plant has established an efficient cross-functional management framework through its Sustainability Development Committee, fostering both vertical governance and horizontal collaboration. By integrating Industry 4.0 smart technologies into its sustainability strategy, the plant leverages digital transformation to enhance carbon management, improve energy efficiency, strengthen operational resilience and reinforce its global competitiveness.
As the world accelerates its transition towards a low-carbon future, the Kaohsiung Plant remains committed to a people-centric approach to sustainability. Guided by
four strategic strategies – being a trusted partner in creating customer value, a practitioner of green technology, a workplace that fosters employee growth and pride, and a catalyst for a sustainable ecosystem – the plant will continue working closely with stakeholders to create shared value and advance a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future.
